Where can I find a picture of the painting "toscanini at Carnegie hall"?
Saw a painting entitled "toscanini at Carnegie hall" by someone with the last name Bernstein in the boa museum of art in boa rat on, Florida. I was just wondering if anyone knows where I can find a picture of this painting.

I can find no mention of the painting by (theresa ferber) Bernstein (who was a member of the ash can school of painting and lived to 111 years old! --> see below) othere than in a news article in the 'palm beach post' which claims it is one of 12 of her paintings now part of the museum's permanent collating and is located on the second floor. What I would do... Is contact the museum (see below) and make a request for a copy and/or ask their advice. Hope this helps! Who was the "first trumpet" and the "first violin" in Arturo toscanini's orchestra?
Answer: Permit me to corr etc you: there was no such orchestra by that name. The institution you're referring to had two identities during its life time: first, the "nbc symphony orchestra"(could have been just the, NBC orchestra), and "symphony of the air". You need to research this: it was formed by NBC solely for the purpose of enticing Toscanini to sign on the dotted line, to become its permanent conductor. Back then - 1940-50's - the three major radio/tv networks(and there were only three: NBC, CBS and abc) were in fierce competition with each other. And to sign Toscanini to a exclusive contract, was a huge coup for NBC. But after Toscanini retired, NBC dis-banded the orchestra; however they, the members refused to, and formed a corporation which they dubbed, the "symphony of the air". And although ugh they st rived for a few years to maintain the orchestra as a financially viable enterprise - performing with, and without conductors - it ultimately proved to be a failure. This orchestra that the then head of NBC, David Sarnoff I think his name was, was able to create, was a unique institution: its members were some of the best musicians in the world, and Toscanini "fine tuned" it to Peterson. It's a great shame it was unable to thrive and endure, upon the maestro's retirement. Alberich p.
