Miley Cyrus’ Provocative Vanity Fair Photos Offend Disney’s Reputation
Miley Cyrus (Disney’s Hannah Montana) has been quite the talk of the town these past few weeks. With Miley’s 18.2 million earnings last year, pictures of her flashing her green bra and now posing partially nude for Vanity Fair’s article about her, she has definitely stirred up more than her fare share of controversy! Miley took part in a risque photo shoot that she assumed was suppose to be artistic and now she is regretting every bit of it.
The 15yr. old Disney Pop Star told ET that she is "embarrassed" about an upcoming photograph of her appearing semi-topless in the new Vanity Fair issue. The pics show Miley sitting in profile with just a blanket wrapped around her chest. She tells ET, "I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about."
Vanity Fair editors responded saying, "Miley’s parents were on the set all day. Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley." When Bruce Handy, was interviewing Miley, he asked her about the photos and she was very cheerful about it and thought it was perfectly fine."
Disney is very disappointed in this scenario. A spokesperson from the Disney Channel said, "Unfortunately, as the article suggests a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15 year old in order to sell magazines.
