CNN? Sex, Drugs and an Anchor?
CNN Anchor Richard Quest was arrested in Central Park early Friday morning around 3:40 a.m. after a police officer spotted him and another man inside the park near 64th street another police source said.
Quest is known for his hollering antics and crazy stunts on CNN. On his official Bio, the network calls him "One of the most instantly recognizable members of the CNN family." "He has become one of the highest profile presenters, and his dynamic and distinctive style has made him a unique figure in the field of business and news broadcasting," the networks Web Site says.
46 year old Quest had Methamphetamine drugs in his pocket, a rope around his neck which was tied to his genitals and a sex toy in his boot said law enforcement sources.
There was a criminal complaint against Quest that the park was closed at the time. He should’ve been aware due to signs all over the park reading "Park Closed 1 a.m. to 6 a.m."
Quest was charged with loitering and criminal possession of a controlled substance. His unusual sex toy and rope didn’t lead to a lewdness charge because he was not exposing himself. Quest’s partner was given a summons for not carrying any I.D. at all.
Mr. Quest’s lawyer said "he didn’t know the park had a curfew, he was simply returning back to his hotel with his friends.
At his hearing in Manhattan Criminal Court, Quest agreed to undergo six months of drug counseling in return for an "adjournment in contemplation of dismissal." This simply means his misdemeanor charges against him will be dropped and the case sealed if he stays in the drug program and out of trouble.
He was released with no bail after spending most of the day in jail.
