Can I use Corella dishes if they are slightly chipped?

Received a gift of some Corella dishes and a couple of them are chipped on the edge. I know that they were given to a friend of mine to deliver them to me, and i'm not sure if or for how long the dishes were being stored. The warranty states that they will replace the dishes if they chip due to normal household use, but not if they chip during transporting or storing.

Answer: We use ours and a couple are chipped. If it bother es you go to Wilmar and buy the two pieces to replace yours. Wilmar carries open stock on Corella.

How to get stains off Corella dishes?

Corella dishes have tiny red spots on edges, probably tomato sauce stains. I've tried soaking in bleach but nor thing works.

Answer: Have you tried running them through a dishwasher. :)

Why/how does a corning Corella bowl full of water, placed on a concrete floor, cause the water to drain out.?

Rang est thing, we feed our cat with dry food and a bowl of water. But the Corella water bowl always leaks all over the floor when placed on concrete. Wt?

Answer: If you are using the same bowl all the time it is possible that it has a minute crack in it. Try a different bowl. If it happens with all of your Corella bowls... I have no idea. That would be weird.

How to remove stains from white Corella dinnerware?

Recently bought vintage Corella dinnerware on eBay. Unfortunately, many pieces have yellowish stains that don't come out even after scrubbing with a sponge soaked in dish washing liquid. Any more suggestions, perhaps a homemade pre-soak solution?

Answer: I have heard that club soda does the trick, but baking soda, vinegar and alka-seltzer (separately) are all good at cleaning porcelain.

Why did Corella stop making cups from the same material as the plates?

Don't like the mix of stoneware mugs with the Corella glass plates.

Answer: Corning used to make the cups from the same materials, matching the plates. Everyone I know of hated the cups. They had a curved partial handle that was awkward to use & got just as hot as the cup, making them more dangerous to use. The new design, using the traditional cup design, makes them easier to guide & the handles are safer because they are cooler than the cups. Having used both, I like the new ones better.
