What is the etiquette for marking a grave site with a headstone?
It legal for someone to mark a grave with a headstone? My bro there died 18 months ago, and his wife hasn't marked the grave. The site is visited frequently by family as it is in an historic cemetery and the family is devoutly spiritual. The wife is not capable of managing this. Task and is not engaged with the family. Is it OK and is it legal for the family to put a gravestone/headstone on the grave?
Answer: Any family member can have a headstone placed on a grave site. When my dad died, my mo there couldn't afford the funeral, much less a headstone. My bro there paid for the funeral, my husband and I ordered and paid for the headstone. We of course consulted with mom first before making any final decisions. You brothere's wife may still be grieving, or financially unable to bear the expense, or perhaps she is preoccupied with other things -- what ever the case may be, if you decide to have a headstone placed at your brothere's grave site, consulting with her would be considerate. You and your family have every legal right to honor your bro there with a proper headstone and there are no laws that would prevent you from doing so. My condolences to you and your family for your loss.
What is the average salary of a grave yard shift registered nurse?
#039;m going to school to become a registered nurse.. I want to work the grave yard shift and I heard it makes more money than day time regular hours.. So what is the average salary of an RN working grave yard shift w/ an associates degree starting out? Thanks in advance!
Answer: Every place that I know of pays you more for working midnights. As far as the average salary it depends. Rn's salaries vary form state to state. I live in Michigan and my friend that just graduated nursing school works P to A and makes 28 an hour. I work at a hospital as well and the midnight shift gets $2 more an hour.

Do TV and film crews use a real grave when filming a burial scene in a cemetery?
Was watching a burial scene on TV. Most of the shots were obviously filmed in a real cemetery somewhere. However, I noticed that the actual interment was shown at close angles, where the buildings around the real cemetery were not visible. It got me wondering if the idea of lowering a fake coffin into a grave was too distasteful and if that part of the scene might have been filmed somewhere else. There was also an aerial shot right over the grave, looking down into it, which would have required a camera on a boom, so I thought that would also be intrusive in a real graveyard.
Answer: I live in new Orleans and there are a lot of films shot down here (believe it or not. ) a friend of mine stood in for Elizabeth she on a film recently and she had to lie down on a grave for like an hour while the camera people set up the shot, etc. She said she wasn't creep ed out til one of the sound guys made some joke and she got freaked out by all the bugs and the idea that there was a dead person six feet below her...
How can I locate the grave site of a deceased friend?
Friend of mine died in 2002, in a car accident. I know their full name, birth date. The street, city, county and state they lived in, the general location of their death and the date of their death. But I never was able to find out where they're buried. I wasn't on good terms with the family and they wouldn't tell me which cemetery he's buried in. I even called the funeral home who handled everything, and they said that it was a closed ceremony and they can only provide information about grave location to family members. I've looked for grave records on line, but all I could find were incomplete, old records from a few local cemeteries. I don't think the family posted an obituary or funeral info in a paper, either. I feel like i'm searching for a needle in a haystack. I would like to find this friend's grave so that I can visit it and find closure. If anyone can help me, please do. Thanks!
Answer: Go to any cemeteries that you think the person may have been interred at, ask at the office where the location of this persons grave is. Give them the persons name and death date. They should have files as to the location of the grave. Or they can tell you if that person isn't in that cemetery. Or they can tell you if there are special instructions not to tell anyone, any information.
